Are there any residency or clinical requirements with this degree?
Yes. The online M.S.N. requires 700 hours in supervised clinical practicum. The residency is done locally to you. You may create a plan designed to help allow flexibility around your work and family schedules over multiple semesters.
In addition, you will have two opportunities to travel to the Catholic University campus in Washington, D.C., to demonstrate and practice abilities you have gained throughout the program, as well as to meet your classmates, faculty, and the staff. The residencies will generally take place in semesters 5 and 8.
Is this program accredited?
Yes. The Master of Science in Nursing program at The Catholic University of America is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), One Dupont Circle, NW, Suite 530, Washington, DC 20036, (202) 887-6791. In addition, it meets the nurse practitioner curriculum guidelines and requirements of the: American Association of Colleges of Nursing, National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties, American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and American Academy of Nurse Practitioners’ Certification Program (AANPCP). Graduates are eligible for national certification through the ANCC and the AANPCP.
