 ***Dr. Salomé Loera presents "Mythbusters: Understanding the Why Behind Evidence-Based Practice" during a podium session at the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses National Teaching Institute & Critical Care Exposition (AACN NTI).***

 **May 19, 2026 -** Clinical Assistant Professor **Dr. Salomé Loera** represented the Conway School of Nursing at the **American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN) National Teaching Institute & Critical Care Exposition (NTI)**, the world's largest educational conference for critical care nurses.

Alongside fellow Clinical Nurse Specialists **Amanda Golino, Sophia Pan, and Robin Jackson**, Dr. Loera delivered a podium presentation titled **"Mythbusters: Understanding the Why Behind Evidence-Based Practice."** The session explored the evolving evidence supporting nursing practice and emphasized the essential role of nurses in translating research into safer, higher-quality patient care.

Designed as an interactive presentation, the session encouraged critical care nurses to examine long-standing clinical practices through the lens of current evidence. Attendees were challenged to champion evidence-based practice, replace outdated approaches with current best practices, and improve patient outcomes within their organizations.

In addition to presenting at the national conference, Dr. Loera continues to contribute to the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses through volunteer leadership and professional service. She serves as a subject-matter expert for educational content development, writes specialty certification examination items, and serves as a peer reviewer for the association's journal.
