## About the Institute

The Summer Nursing Institute is a one-week program held twice in July, designed to introduce students to the core principles of nursing practice and to explore nursing as a career and profession. The program is led by nursing faculty in collaboration with an upper-class nursing student, providing both academic and peer-guided learning experiences

This educational experience emphasizes *learning by doing*, allowing students to practice selected technical skills in the Conway School of Nursing’s skills lab and simulation center. Throughout the week, the Institute integrates professional and moral values, with a focus on human dignity as a framework for understanding nursing’s role in promoting human flourishing during illness.
