One of the significant factors contributing to the national nursing shortage is a national shortage of nursing faculty members. Thanks to generous donations from Mr. Bill Conway, Mr. Joseph Hall, and Mrs. Catherine Hall, the Conway School of Nursing has opened a Center for Future Faculty. Directed by Vice Dean, Martha Scheckel, PhD. RN. CNE., and in collaboration with schools of nursing at Trinity Washington University, Howard University, and George Washington University, nurses interested in pursuing a faculty role in the future receive stipend support to take graduate coursework in nursing education. Eligible graduates may sit for the national exam to become Certified Nurse Educators (CNE).
