Job Summary
The Simulation Instructor/Debriefer provides instruction and evaluation of undergraduate nursing students in the simulation laboratory. This role ensures that students meet course objectives and demonstrate essential clinical competencies while promoting professional and ethical nursing practice in alignment with the mission of The Catholic University of America.
Appointment Term
The appointment is for one semester and may be renewed based on program needs and satisfactory performance.
Education and Qualifications
- A graduate degree in nursing is preferred. Candidates may also qualify with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and either:
- A national certification in the assigned clinical specialty, or
- Current enrollment in a graduate nursing program.
- A minimum of two years of clinical experience as a registered nurse in the specialty area in which the candidate will teach is required.
- Clinical teaching or preceptorship experience is preferred.
- A valid District of Columbia registered nurse license is required. Candidates who do not currently hold a DC RN license must be willing to obtain one within 60 days of hire.
