The Conway Scholarship

The Conway Nursing Scholarships, generously funded by Bill and Joanne Conway and the Bedford Falls Foundation, provide exceptional undergraduate nursing students with the financial support needed to pursue their calling as nurses dedicated to healing the mind, body, and spirit.

Designed to recognize academic achievement, financial need, and a commitment to compassionate, whole-person care, the Conway scholarships ensure that dedicated students have the opportunity to thrive in the faith-based community at The Conway School of Nursing (CSON).

No separate application is required—each year, incoming nursing students are automatically evaluated for the scholarship. In the Classes of 2028 and 2029, 46% of incoming nursing students were awarded Conway Scholarships, joining a distinguished network of future healthcare leaders.

More than a Decade of Impact

Since its establishment in 2012, the William and Joanne Conway Nursing Scholars Program has transformed lives. The program was founded with three core goals:

Empowering the next generation of nurses

by providing financial support to high-achieving students.
Addressing the growing healthcare needs

of the Washington, D.C. region and beyond.
Combating the national nursing shortage

by helping more students enter and excel in the field.

The program launched in 2013 with its first cohort of 19 scholars, all of whom successfully passed the NCLEX-RN exam on their first attempt and secured desired job placements. Today, the program has supported over 75 graduates and continues to grow, with a record 47 new scholars joining the Class of 2028.

Over the past decade, more than $26 million in scholarships has been awarded to aspiring nurses, ensuring that financial barriers do not stand in the way of their success. Conway Scholars have gone on to work in top healthcare institutions across the country.
