Dunn Family Bridge Scholarship

Mother Cabrini Health Foundation Scholarship
The Mother Cabrini Health Foundation Scholarship is a scholarship that is partnered with Catholic Health Long Island and the Conway School of Nursing. This scholarship will be awarded to five incoming freshman students based on the eligibility and selection criteria outlined below. This scholarship for university tuition and on-campus housing is $76,350 over four years per student. The Catholic University of America is committed to being a comprehensive Catholic and American institution of higher learning, faithful to the teachings of Jesus Christ as handed on by the Church. This scholarship supports our university mission and prepares future nurses for practice upon graduation at one of the Catholic Health Long Island hospitals.-
Eligibility
Selection Criteria Requirements for this scholarship:
- Acceptance to the Conway School of Nursing for undergraduate studies.
- Academic merit is demonstrated by a high school GPA of 3.2 or above. During the four-year academic scholarship period, an overall GPA of 3.2 or above must be maintained, and all other CSON progression metrics must be met.
- Maintenance of full-time student status during the 4-year undergraduate program.
- A permanent address within the Long Island area is preferred.
- School, community/extracurricular, religious organization, volunteer, and/or work activities demonstrate strong teamwork and leadership skills.
- Participate in two activities per academic year within Catholic Health Long Island. Examples include, but are not limited to, Grand Rounds, a Nurse Residency Program class, a Shared Governance meeting, a Nurses’ Week activity, and a health system community volunteer event. Students will share their learning from activities with peers and the Executive Director for Strategic Partnerships.
- Commitment to three years of practice at one of the Catholic Health Long Island hospitals upon successful graduation from The Catholic University of America for this 4-year undergraduate scholarship.

Selection of Scholarship Recipients: A six-member committee (three leaders from Catholic Health Long Island—two from Nursing and one from Human Resources, two CSON faculty, and one member of the CUA Financial Assistance office) will review applications using the attached rubric for recipient selection. The scholarship will be coordinated with the Office of Student Financial Assistance.
Notification of Award: Mid-July, 2025.
