Pinning Ceremony

The Pinning Ceremony for the School of Nursing Class of 2017 will take place on Thursday, May 11, at 9 a.m. There are no tickets required for this event. Light refreshments will be provided prior to the ceremony.  

For the Pinning Ceremony, student should arrive in the hall behind the Pryzbyla Great Room by 8:30 a.m. Proper dress code for this event is business casual.  

University Commencement Ceremony

For the university’s main commencement ceremony, graduates should arrive behind McMahon Hall at 8:45 a.m. and find the “Nursing” sign. They will process in two lines, in any order. For this first ceremony, the graduates may sit with friends. Graduates are expected to wear their cap and gown, and carry their hoods on their left arm. Wear your tassel on the right while processing in.

School of Nursing Diploma Ceremony

Time and Location
For the School of Nursing Diploma Ceremony, families and guests are invited to join us in the Great Upper Church of the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. The ceremony will begin immediately following the main ceremony.

Seating
Parents and families do not need tickets, as seating will be given on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please be courteous to our older guests and families with small children.

Procession
Following the main ceremony, graduates should gather immediately on the front steps of the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in their assigned order.

Diploma Ceremony
After the faculty and graduates process into the ceremony, we will continue with the opening prayer, student speech, and the conferral of degrees.

Reception
Parents and families, please join us on the terrace of the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception for light refreshments immediately following the School of Nursing Diploma Ceremony.
