The Post-Graduate Certificate in Nursing at Education is designed for graduate-prepared nurses, equipping them with the skills to excel as an academic nurse educator.     • NURS 835D: The Teaching of Nursing and Curricular Design (3cr)

    • NURS836D: Facilitating Learning in Nursing Education (3cr)

    Spring

    Session I

    • NURS 838D: Becoming a Nurse Educator: Skills and Strategies Fellowship (3cr, 135 hours of applied-field work)
    • NURS 837D: Assessment, Evaluation, and Testing in Nursing Education (3cr)

    Session II

    • NURS 838D: Becoming a Nurse Educator: Skills and Strategies Fellowship

     

    Sessions are 7-8 weeks in length. Some courses are conducted throughout two sessions. 

    The coursework includes preparation for the National League for Nursing’s Certified Nurse Educator Exam (CNE®).

    Required Documents

    • Official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions. (Unofficial copies can be used for application review.)

    Official transcripts and English proficiency scores must be submitted for full admittance to the University.  Your official copies should be sent from the institution to em-operations@cua.edu

    • Professional resume or curriculum vitae
    • One letter of recommendation, which should be from a current or former supervisor in a clinical setting
    • Professional Goal Statement
    •  Complete a brief secondary application because you may qualify as a Faculty Fellow. To complete this application, please complete no more than one double-spaced page summary responding to the following:

      a.) commitment to being a future faculty member 

      b.) desired impact as a future nurse educator on preparing students to address health equity 

      c.) ability to become a values-based nurse educator
